要旨 | The discovery of
complex patterns of electronic order has strongly influenced recent
research into the physics of high temperature superconductivity,
colossal magnetoresistance, and other dramatic electronic phenomena.
The new types of order arise from the interplay among the d electron
spin, charge, and orbital degrees of freedom, and their coupling the
lattice. In this talk I will show how advances in neutron and x-ray
scattering techniques are being exploited to detect complex order and
to investigate the spin dynamics in correlated magnetic oxides.
Recent results will be presented on orbital order in manganese oxides,
on spin dynamics in stripe-ordered compounds, and on magnetic
correlations in triangular-lattice sodium cobalt oxide. |
