Message from the Department Chair

Department of Physics, Okayama University, is the home of more than 20 faculties and some 70 graduate students who work in various fields ranging from elementary particles to superconductivity. We offer graduate students strong research programs and aim to produce first-rate outputs. We also offer an integrated undergraduate education program. We work in close collaborations with scholars from various universities and institutes all over the world. In particular, the Department has strong tie with nearby large-scale research facilities such as Spring-8 and SuperKamiokande, with 5 scientists of Spring-8 as adjunct professors at the Department.
